Portman Lights Launches OMNIRAY

Portman introduces the Hybrid Utility Fixture -- or HUF for short -- a brand-new category of stage lighting. The unit combines wash, narrow beam, and blinder capabilities with striking decorative potential, all in one fixture. With an IP65 rating, OMNIRAY is water- and dust-resistant, crafted from robust cast aluminum, and designed to withstand the rigors of stage and TV productions.

The company says OMNIRAY reimagines the classic PAR light for the modern stage. Its parabolic depth is said to ensure uniform light coverage, consistently painting the stage with vivid, high-quality color. "The main light source boasts 440W of RGBWLA LED power for industry-leading CRI levels that make colors pop like never before," it adds.

The unit also features a secondary light source. Positioned in the central core, this 40W RGBW LED delivers a narrow, independently controllable, beam.

A magnetic decorative lens overlay attaches to the front, allowing users to customize its appearance. Plus, a range of accessories -- including diffusers, Fresnel lenses, and barn doors -- let users shape and adapt the beam to suit any production. More accessories are on the way.

OMNIRAY is also billed as being intuitive and technician-friendly. The company says the unit's precision tilt system ensures fixtures are perfectly aligned with pinpoint accuracy, saving precious setup time. And with Portman's Color Feedback System, users can check fixture status at a glance -- even from a distance.
