Philips Unveils the SL Nitro at Prolight + Sound 2013Philips continues the Showline LED revolution with the worldwide debut of an LED strobe luminaire at Prolight + Sound 2013, running April 10-13 in Frankfurt, Germany. Showing in hall 11, stand D73, Philips will unveil the SL Nitro 510, an LED- based strobe that provides intense bursts of light and dynamic effects with over 1,300 high-powered LEDs that ensure maximum output and even distribution of light. "The SL Nitro 510 is extremely unique and more versatile than any other strobe currently on the market," began Brad Schiller, Showline product marketing manager. "It uses less power than traditional strobes, yet is extremely bright at over 68,000 lumens and it has six programmable zones allowing designers to create a multitude of looks. The luminaire can also be used as an intense light source as it possesses the exceptional ability of a continuous duty cycle where the LEDs can be on at full for nearly unlimited amounts of time without any loss in output." Along with their outstanding output capabilities, SL Nitro 510 luminaires also include a built-in quick-connect system that allows them to easily connect together in both horizontal and vertical orientations. The connection pins lock fixtures together while maintaining a perfect pixel pitch alignment of each fixture's six programmable zones. Additionally, to ensure they fit perfectly into the Showline family, SL Nitro 510 luminaires can quickly connect with SL BAR 520 luminaires to provide total creative flexibility to any lighting design. When the units are combined, both the pixels of the SL BAR 520 and the zones of the SL Nitro 510 align allowing symmetry and unlimited design possibilities. With its rugged construction, the IP20-rated SL Nitro 510 features a 6,500K color temperature, six independent zones of control, preprogrammed special effects, a continuous blinder effect, as well as built-in presets, effects, and chases. With multiple DMX modes for total control and easy retrofits, the on-board LCD menu system makes addressing and setup quick and easy. Plus, the SL Nitro 510 also features remote configuration via RDM, PowerCon in and thru power connections, five-pin DMX-512A in and thru connections, a nearly silent temperature-controlled fan cooling system, and an auto-ranging power supply (100-240 V, 50/60 Hz). Schiller continued, "Every few years a new lighting product comes along that changes the playing field. With its tightly-packed array of high-power LEDs, the SL Nitro 510 is an LED strobe light built to be a strobe light, and the innovative quick-connect feature allows unprecedented freedom of design whether connecting with multiple units or SL BAR 520 luminaires. Its DMX mapping allows for an easy drop-in replacement of traditional strobes while retaining existing programming and greatly reducing the energy consumption. Compact, rugged, silent, and packed full of Showline features, the SL Nitro 510 is the perfect LED strobe luminaire for any application providing designers with the upmost in creative abilities and extreme output." Philips is debuting the SL Nitro 510 at Prolight + Sound 2013, April 10-13, Hall 11 Stand D73.
