Coal Chamber Depends on Behringer X32 Digital Mixing ConsoleThe Behringer X32 was key to the success of American nu-metal band Coal Chamber's recent tour, the company says proving the award-winning digital console is just as reliable and capable on the road as in fixed-install applications. Coal Chamber sound engineer, Leonard Contreras, decided to take the X32 on the road after experiencing its benefits and features firsthand at Los Angeles' famed Whisky a Go Go, where he is the club's production manager, as well as front-of-house engineer. After using the X32 for the iconic club's front-of-house and monitor systems, Contreras was eager to press it into duty on the tour, commenting. "I was so impressed... it was an easy setup and the features were phenomenal!" Contreras found it especially well suited to touring because the X32 can be controlled remotely using an iPad. Now front of house is wherever he's standing. "The navigation, the feel, the lack of latency between the console and iPad was a big factor -- I was impressed by that," he said. The company says the Behringer X32 is the fastest-selling digital mixer of all time, and touring with it affirms that status for Contreras. "I got to explore all the features and hear it through multiple PA systems in different venues, and the sound was phenomenal -- after that tour, I was sold."
