Oregon Shakespeare Festival Staff Displaced by Wildfires; Help Needed Lighting&Sound America has learned that the wildfires devastating the Pacific Northwest have affected staffers at Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Michael Maag, resident lighting designer at OSF, writes: "The Almeda Fire swept thru here a week ago and destroyed over 2,300 homes. Though it started just two blocks from my house, some quirk of the wind kept the fire and embers away from us. My wife and I and our pets are safe and back home. "So many of our friends and colleagues, however, were not so lucky. At least 15 OSF employees lost their homes and many more are displaced. Several entertainment workers/stagehands included." Clearly, help is needed. It is worth nothing that OSF turned one of its rehearsal halls into a donation center handing out necessary items including masks, toiletries, and packaged underwear and socks to those affected by the fire.
