The Denver Center for the Performing Arts Chooses the RC4 Wireless Magic SystemThe Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA) has selected the RC4 Wireless RC4Magic Series 3 wireless DMX and dimming system to enhance their wireless needs. When looking at the technical needs for the theatre company's upcoming reimagined production of The Unsinkable Molly Brown, (featuring lighting design by Don Holder), DCPA lighting director Charles MacLeod knew the DCPA would need to expand their wireless DMX and dimming capabilities. The Denver Center for the Performing Arts was an early adopter of wireless DMX technology with RC4's rack mounted systems in the '90s and then the RC4 Magic Series 2 system more recently. "I've come to depend on the flexibility and stability of the RC4Magic," said MacLeod. "The tiny size of the DMX2micro solves challenges that we face on many productions. We are really looking forward to the expanded functionality of the Series 3 equipment. Having the Flkr effects engine, hue/saturation/level engine, and DMX in and out ports really added a new level of versatility to an already versatile piece of equipment." The DCPA is one of the nation's most active theater companies, hosting more than 30 plays and musicals year-round within six unique performance spaces. Their needs range from Broadway tours to intimate cabaret shows. "Multi-venue facilities like the DCPA are exactly why our unique ID system exists," says Sean Dane, RC4 Wireless application specialist. "When you have multiple spaces operating at the same time and then a road show loads into the same building, RC4Magic is the only wireless DMX and dimming system that can guarantee you will not suffer cross-talk from any other system. Others claim to have multiple IDs to prevent this, but you still must be aware of which settings every nearby system is using. With RC4Magic technology, you just know you are secure. Charles and the DCPA are one of the first customers to use the new RC4Magic Series 3 equipment, which is fully compatible with our existing Series 2 gear. I really look forward to seeing how they use all the added functions to support their incredible work." Learn more about the DCPA at www.denvercenter.org.
