Date Set for Annual Hemsley Portfolio Review

The Hemsley Lighting Programs' annual lighting portfolio design exhibit and reception will be held on Sunday, April 3 at Gibney Dance Studios, 890 Broadway, New York, 5:30 - 8pm. The exhibit features the work of 32 graduating lighting students, from design programs all across the country, who display their work following a day-long review by professional designers, directors, and production personnel.

The Hemsley Lighting Programs, Inc. was originally established in 1983 as The Gilbert V. Hemsley, Jr. Internship in Lighting in honor of this unique and much beloved man. He was responsible for the launching of so many careers in the theatre that when the idea for the Internship was suggested, the outpouring of both goodwill and financial support created the framework upon which the program was formed and has been sustained. Among its offerings are an internship program, mentorship program, and master classes.
