K-array Loudspeakers Cohen for Spain-US Chamber of Commerce EventLoudspeaker specialist K-array supplied the audio for speech at an award ceremony held during the annual gala of the Spain-US Chamber of Commerce in New York, with more than 300 attendees, representing the world of finance, business, politics, culture, and social sectors from the United States and Spain. The attendees included the Ambassador of Spain in the United States, Ramón Gil-Casares, and the former Ambassador of the United States in Spain and Chairman of the Chamber, Alan Solomont, among others. Lou Mannarino and his team at L&M Light and Sound in New York provided the full production with audio and lighting at the event, which celebrated Antonio Brufau, chairman of the multinational oil and gas company Repsol. Brufau received the Business Leader of the Year Award. The board of directors recognized Brufau for his "long-standing professional career, his contribution to a more internationalized Repsol and his contribution to consolidating it as a major worldwide energy company." Also highlighted was the company's "growing presence and recognition" in North America. Mannarino, who regularly works on events held at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building on Fifth Avenue, used his regular setup, with K-array KR202s acting as the main PA for speech. The challenge is the small room in which to increase capacity but deliver exceptional sound and a production, fitting to the occasion. Two KR202s were set up on either side of the stage and, with the plug-and-play setup with optimum presets already in the place, the system was brought in and set up within minutes. "Every event we are a part of at the New York Public Library--easily amongst the most visually striking venues in the city--gives us the opportunity to create a new a vibrant atmosphere for the event du jour," says Mannarino. "Here, for the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce, we provided our full repertoire of seamlessly integrated lighting, audio, video, and staging services for the organization's annual gala reception." K-array says it has 16 product launches ready for 2015.
