Catching Up with Wire Road Studios and their API Legacy AXS Console At the end of 2017, Wire Road Studios in Houston, Texas, commissioned a 32 channel API AXS Console in its Studio A space. API contacted the studio to see how the console has been serving them since its installation. "Two years ago we decided to upgrade Studio A's console and the timing couldn't have been better," says Wire Road's owner and president James Kelley. "API was already at the top of our list and they had just recently introduced the AXS to the market. The AXS has now been our go-to console for about 18 months. It was a hit from day one with engineers utilizing our facility due to its ease of use, signature API sound, and quick work flow. Our clients have also been ecstatic with the sound and quality of work produced from the console. As word has spread about Wire Road's upgrade to the AXS it's no surprise that we've seen an increase in bookings. We are extremely pleased with our decision and feel that installing the AXS allows Wire Road Studios to meet its objective of producing a product on par with the best studios in the country." Back in 2017, Kelley expressed optimism for the studio's new addition, telling API, "Many of our clients have already expressed excitement about bringing the API sound to our facility and we believe the AXS will allow us to take another step in building national recognition for Wire Road Studios." The company says "it's safe to say Wire Road has definitely made strides in recognition since installing the AXS console, having provided ADR services for films like The Lego Movie 2 and hit TV shows including Power Rangers, Ozark, GLOW, Marvel's Cloak & Dagger, and many more. Wire Road Studios was also recognized with a 2018 gold Telly Award for Sound Design and Mix in a segment for Sesame Street.
