Jeff Alexander, Sennheiser Marketing Exec, Dies at 56 Lighting&Sound America has learned of the death, on December 17, of Jeff Alexander, a longtime fixture at Sennheiser and Neumann. He was 56. Born in Houston, and a graduate of Texas A&M, Alexander was a musician, and, settling in Groton, Connecticut, he also worked in submarine engineering. Eventually, through a connection with a friend, he went to work at Sennheiser, first as product manager for Neumann then national sales manager and, later, sales and marketing director for Sennheiser's third-party brands. In 2012, Alexander, riding a motor scooter, was hit by a car, breaking a hip and shattering a leg, knee, and wrist. A lengthy hospitalization and dozens of surgeries followed, although he never fully recovered, even after his left leg was amputated three years later. A lively and convivial personality, he was a popular member of the audio industry and was synonymous with the Sennheiser brand in this country. He is survived by his wife, Samantha Marie, and two sons, Ethan and Trevor. Plans for a memorial service are pending.
