Clear-Com Adds More Functionality to FreeSpeak II Wireless Intercom Clear-Com has released a significant software update to FreeSpeak II digital wireless intercom for live performance, theatre, and broadcast users. The firmware update provides new functionality, including text messaging and a cleaner user interface, together with improved diagnostics and audio enhancements for 2.4GHz systems when used in complex radio environments. The new firmware, available to all existing FreeSpeak II users from the Clear-Com website, updates 2.4GHz systems, the FSII-BASE-II base station and its CCM management software to provide a better user experience for both audio performance and ease of use for all users. "FreeSpeak II has become the wireless intercom of choice for so many production teams due to its game changing audio performance and out-of-the-box ease of use based on familiar workflows," said Simon Browne, vice president of product management at Clear-Com. "We're excited to take FreeSpeak II to the next level of performance and to add features that will delight our existing and new customers. We are releasing these features for 2.4Ghz systems initially and 1.9GHz systems will be updated soon after." The new management software includes new tools for technical administrators to track beltpack roaming between cellular transceivers and quality of service over time, thus helping to tune the system for best operation. The new software release is available from Clear-Com's website at the URL below.
