Zero 88 Launches RigSwitch at PLASA 2019UK lighting control manufacturer Zero 88 enjoyed a busy and lively PLASA 2019 entertainment technology trade expo at Olympia in London, which included first UK trade show for its new RigSwitch remote controlled switching system together with a host of other neat, practical, and innovative power, data, and control solutions. Running concurrently with the first two days of the show, Zero 88 also ran two days of free hands-on introductory and training sessions for the FLX lighting console family at the Hilton Hotel, a two minute walk from Olympia, which were popular and well received. Product manager Jon Hole commented that the quality of the visitors to the show was "consistently good" and that the footfall was busy throughout, especially on the Monday and Tuesday mornings. The specially designed one-hour training sessions were based on a very successful informal format that the Zero 88 team has developed, with four a day, including an extended two-hour session over lunchtime -- with refreshments and a light lunch. The 6pm session featured an extra highly informative Q+A ... plus a drink for all those attending! The main new product reveal was RigSwitch, a fully customizable range of switching cabinets from 12 to 96 relays per cabinet, with four pre-designed options to cover the most regularly requested combinations. All relays feature staggered power-on, DMX control and remote switching, using anything from a simple contact to a network of engraved keypads and touchscreens. Each channel has an MCB as standard, with additional options of RCBO, ELCB, and AFP (Arc Fault Protection) for installations requiring further protection. The product is designed for anything, from entry level installations right up to the most complex multi-level projects, and is affordable and cost-effective for all. RigSwitch is manufactured in Europe, harnessing the convenience and accessibility of Eaton's extensive breaker production businesses. Recent RigSwitch installations include the brand-new TECA (The Event Complex Aberdeen) venue, which has 432 channels complete with button stations and touch screens. On the PLASA stand the ease of RigSwitch's operation was illustrated with several imaginative, different and amusing pull / push activation options! The show, with its diverse and string visitor base covering so many sectors of entertainment, was a perfect place to show this new technology. Other exciting new and multifunctional products shown were the Betapack 4 -- one product with six dynamic variants; the ZerOS Server -- one product with three different uses and a new Data Distribution range supporting both DMX / RDM plus the latest Ethernet protocols. This is presented in a condensed, affordable "family" with improved features, additional flexibility and the complete simplicity for which Zero 88 is renowned. All the lighting desks on the stand were running on the latest ZerOS 7.9.6 software release, which is available for all ZerOS consoles.
