Kristine Smith Joins The Activity as Executive ProducerTo keep up with the rapid global growth of production and design services firm The Activity, president and principal production designer Patrick Dierson is partnering with Kristine Smith, a well-known executive producer in the event world. From her base in New York City, Smith joins the Las Vegas-based company with 20 years of experience producing events coast to coast and worldwide. Since 1999, Smith has worked as a freelance executive producer and project lead for agencies such as Jack Morton Worldwide, among others. From grassroots to global launches, projects have included musical performances, multimedia and interactive experiences, live broadcasts, press conferences, business meetings, and content production. For three years, Smith also served as freelance senior producer producing multicity automotive marking tours across the US for Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and Toyota. In 2010, Smith founded 22twelve Ltd. in New York. High profile clients include Google, Nike, Time Warner Cable, NFL, and Nokia, to name a few. "We are excited and fortunate to have Kristine join us," says Dierson. "She is highly respected throughout the event industry not to mention that she has been heavily sought after by some of the largest corporations on the planet to handle their needs directly. She could have chosen to work with many companies that dwarf The Activity but she chose us with whom to build a future." "Patrick has been a trusted colleague for many years," Smith says. "He shares the same ambition, honor, and dedicated work ethic that I value. I look forward to delivering exceptional shows and experiences for our clients backed by our world-class team." Dierson started The Activity to offer design services and other duties for show producers around the globe. "We are also a strategic partner to both fellow designers and industry vendors who find themselves needing to provide a more extensive range of services on a less frequent basis," he says. These services include CAD drafting, artistic rendering, and plotting; electrician services; multidepartment integration with lighting, scenic, video, effects, broadcast; previsualization; crew acquisition; vendor quotation assistance; preparatory vendor paperwork; and other duties. The Activity's project calendar has recently encompassed multiple private corporate events in Hawaii, Bali, and Brazil; global work with the Ultra Music Festival teams with Ultra Singapore, Korea, China, and Japan; tours and festivals for Roc Nation; and handling front-of-house management duties for Insomniac Events' Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas.
