Mountain Productions Breaks Event Production Records at the 2017 NFL Draft in PhiladelphiaMountain Productions, a provider of staging and entertainment event production, set a new precedent with the 2017 NFL Draft. Mountain Productions surpassed records as they created an enormous outdoor temporary amphitheater. The structure's roof was supported by 20 posts, spanned a downstage width of 250', and stood over 70' tall. Mountain Productions was approached by C3 Presents, the third largest independent promoter in the country, to build a massive outdoor theater for the 2017 NFL Draft, which rested on the iconic steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This year marked the first fully outdoor draft experience in its 81-year history with record-breaking attendance of more than 250,000 fans in Philadelphia. Fans had the chance to immerse themselves in the NFL Draft experience and were encouraged to do so through interactive exhibits, entertainment, and free admission to the 3,000 seat amphitheater built by Mountain Productions. The event spread across one half mile from the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. "Our team has been leading the industry for 30 years, producing some of the most iconic live events," said Ricky Rose, chief executive officer. "We were thrilled to design, fabricate, and supervise the construction of the largest covered post stage ever built, matching the grandeur of this year's NFL Draft." Mountain Productions provided a number of other support structures seen throughout the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, including a front-of-house mix position, various coverage platforms, and a number of interactive exhibits that helped set the NFL Draft experience apart. With over ten in-house departments, the company also provided custom-made VIP platforms and handrail, rigging services, printed soft good branding, custom fabricated materials, and weather protection for the event.
