PLProfile1 and PLFresnel1 LED Luminaires Now Shipping

Philips Strand Lighting announces the Philips Selecon PLProfile1 and PLFresnel1 LED luminaires are now shipping across North and South America. Utilizing a powerful, single-source RGBW LED chip to deliver limitless color mixing and variable color temperature, the PLProfile1 and PLFresnel1 enhance the capabilities of the growing PL family of LED luminaires and continue to build upon the Philips LED technology.

"With the PLProfile1 and the PLFresnel1 we have taken that technology and created two luminaires that not only strengthen the overall impact of the PL family of LED luminaires, but we are now giving lighting designers across North and South America a better opportunity to find their ideal light."

The PLProfile1 LED luminaire is a variable beam profile that produces precise beam control and pattern projection from a high output beam. It's available in 18- to 34-degree or 24- to 44-degree beam angles with interchangeable lens trays and a slot provided for iris, M-size pattern holder, or a third-party effect accessory. An innovative combination of LED source technology and precision optical design, the PLProfile1 LED delivers projection quality in a compact, robust luminaire.

The PLFresnel1 is a general purpose luminaire for theatre, small studio, and display lighting applications with a quick selection of color presets. It produces an adjustable cone of light with a soft edge that can be easily blended with adjacent beams to provide an even illumination of fully mixed light with no multiple color shadows. Using LED source technology combined with a traditional Fresnel lens, according to the company, the PLFresnel1 LED luminaire delivers quality light without the compromising performance of spreader lenses.

The LED engine used in both the PLProfile1 and PLFresnel1 LED luminaires is the same used in the PLCyc, PL1 Wash, PL3 Wash, and the newly released PLProfile4 LED luminaire. It has a life expectancy in excess of 25,000 hours, plus the Philips Selecon three-year limited warranty includes a guarantee against premature failure of the LED engine.
