Hemsley Lighting Program Reception and Design Exhibit Set for March 17The Hemsley Lighting Program will hold its annual Lighting Portfolio Review Exhibit and Reception on Sunday, March 17, 6-8pm at the School of American Ballet, 70 Lincoln Center (Rose Building), 5th floor (entrance located at 165 West 65th Street on the Plaza level), in New York City. The exhibit features the work of graduating lighting students from 20 design programs all across the country who will display their work following a day long review by professional designers, directors, and production personnel. Industry professionals are invited to celebrate the students' accomplishments and their transition to the professional community. Howell Binkley (How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Avenue Q, Jersey Boys, The Full Monty) will be the guest speaker along with members of the design team from Flashdance The Musical, opening on Broadway later this year. Gilbert Hemsley dedicated his life to the training of young theatre professionals. For 30 years, the Hemsley Lighting Programs have continued his legacy by offering unique experiences to young designers as they begin their professional careers.
