Grass Valley Honored with 2015 Philo T. Farnsworth Award from Television AcademyGrass Valley, a Belden Brand, will be presented with the Philo T. Farnsworth Award by the Television Academy at its 67th Engineering Emmy Awards in a ceremony on October 28 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel. Grass Valley is receiving the award in recognition of its contributions over time that have significantly impacted television technology and engineering. The board of governors of the Television Academy singled out Grass Valley to receive this prestigious award, citing the company's five-decade history of providing the tools to create signal infrastructure as the television industry grew; its years of leadership in video routing, switching and manipulation; and its industry-changing, pioneering strides in digital-image processing and effects. "Grass Valley has been providing innovative television and broadcast solutions for a very long time. We're particularly gratified and humbled to be recognized with this prestigious award," said Marco Lopez, president, Grass Valley. "We have now earned 21 Emmy Awards, a real testament to the work we have done and continue to do. Most important is the impact these achievements have had on the operations of our customers, whose confidence in our solutions enables us to continue innovating." The Philo T. Farnsworth Award originated in 2003 and has been presented only nine times previously. The award is named after Philo T. Farnsworth, an American inventor and television pioneer critical in the early development of all-electronic television.
