American Music & Sound Appoints Kaitlyn Trahan to the Internship Program in Partnership with WAVIT

Kaitlyn Trahan

American Music & Sound (AM&S) announces the appointment of Kaitlyn Trahan to their Music Industry Internship Program in partnership with Women in AV/IT. Trahan's hiring exemplifies the ongoing initiative between WAVIT and Exertis | JAM's AM&S division, which aims to enhance diversity in the AV/IT industry and provide opportunities for professionals of all backgrounds.

"Several months ago, we partnered with Exertis | JAM's AM&S division, and we decided to help them fill their internship positions through WAVIT," says Gina Sansivero, WAVIT president, and VP marketing and corporate communications at AtlasIED. "The WAVIT initiative gets us involved in the interview process, we are also then able to mentor the interns following their acceptance of that role. We felt that this was an important part of our outreach initiative."

With the support of industry professionals, this internship program focuses on the intern's professional growth and provides opportunities to enhance crucial skills. Trahan will work closely with the AM&S marketing team, various JAM departments, and key customer accounts to complete tasks that make an impact on the organizations. Her daily responsibilities will include conducting market research, developing social media content, analyzing social media performance, and coordinating commercial events and trade shows.

"Joining the AM&S team is a dream, and I am thrilled for the opportunity to work with such a talented group of industry professionals," says Trahan. "Having the support from the accomplished women at WAVIT is something so unique and valuable to this opportunity."

"We created WAVIT to empower and support women in this AV/IT industry," states Brandy Alvarado-Miranda, WAVIT board member, CEO BAM! Marketing & PR Agency. "Ripples Make Waves. We know that by doing those things and supporting women in this industry, we help create a very bold, dynamic ripple effect."

Working in the Public Relations industry for several years, Trahan has gained experience working with a variety of businesses and organizations. She enjoys being creative through social media marketing, digital design, and creating effective campaigns.

"The WAVIT/AM&S program has been amazingly beneficial for the company," says Jeff Hawley, Allen & Heath USA / American Music & Sound director of marketing. "We were hopeful going in with Raegan Thompson being the inaugural intern that things would turn out well, but we were not prepared for just how immediately helpful it was to have an intern to seek out synergies across departments and divisions as projects might pop up."

"Knowing that I am part of an initiative to help diversify the AV/IT industry is an absolute honor," states Trahan. I have seen the incredible impact that this internship has had and know that it will positively impact my life and professional career."
