Common Ground Christian Church Heard Loud and Clear with WorxAudio Line Array

Common Ground Christian Church sanctuary

As part of its mission, Common Ground Christian Church delivers high energy services as a means of motivating and engaging the congregation. Recently, the church upgraded its facilities and this effort included the installation of a new sound reinforcement system. To ensure that dialog was clear and easy to understand and that music was rich, natural, and full, the decision was made to deploy line array technology drawn from the TrueLine catalog of WorxAudio Technologies, a division of PreSonus Audio Electronics, Inc.

Force Technology Solutions of Greenfield, Indiana, a design / build firm that handles AV projects with a focus on sound, lighting, video, and broadcast for the commercial and worship markets, was brought in to handle the deployment of the church's upgraded sound system. After meeting with church officials to determine their objectives, AJ Fager, the company's design engineer, elected to deploy a WorxAudio TrueLine X3i-P all-in-one compact line array system.

"Common Ground worship services are high energy, contemporary in nature, and music assumes a major role in the program. For this reason, it was important that music reproduction be first rate. Sound quality needed not only to be clear, but it had to sound natural -- with even coverage throughout the sanctuary. Similarly, a high level of speech intelligibility was considered crucial to ensure that whoever happened to be speaking could be understood, no matter where one happened to be seated. For this reason, we elected to deploy the WorxAudio X3i-P, which we flew over the center of the stage."

"The main feature of the WorxAudio X3i-P that we liked for this application," Fager continued, "was that we could use a single enclosure to cover the entire congregation without sacrificing the ability to deliver impactful audio quality. We had considered using side fills to augment the X3i-P on the outer reaches of the sound field, but this didn't prove cost-beneficial because that single enclosure covered all but 10-15 seats perfectly and, even in those few remaining seats, audio performance was quite good and a vast improvement over the previous setup."

When queried about those X3i-P attributes that he finds most compelling, Fager offered the following thoughts, "With every demo and completed installation, we continue to be wowed by the WorxAudio X Series. Every single time we place these systems in a new room, we continue to be impressed with the enclosures' horizontal coverage abilities. The 160-degree horizontal dispersion pattern and the overall audio quality of the X3i-P is quite unique in our industry. The X Series value to us and our clients keeps us coming back to WorxAudio over and over."

In addition to the quality of the WorxAudio loudspeaker systems he has installed over the years, Fager was equally complimentary about the company's customer and technical support services. "WorxAudio has always been very supportive of our efforts to provide great solutions to our customers. The entire staff is responsive and knowledgeable, so when we need assistance, we get it quickly."

Common Ground Christian Church's sound reinforcement system upgrade occurred during January 2016 and the equipment was placed into service immediately after. Since that time, Fager reports having received numerous compliments. "Our client has been very pleased with the results we obtained with the WorxAudio equipment," he said, "and because of the success we had with the X3i-P, the plan is to add a WorxAudio 8Ai-P point source enclosure for sound booth delay. Further, based upon the success we've had at this location, we're expecting to add new systems at some of the church's other locations in the future. When one project leads to another, it doesn't get any better than that!"
