Elation to Show New Additions To Platinum Series and High-Power Quad-Color LED Panel At PLASA Focus: Nashville

Building on the success of its compact high-power Platinum Series fixtures and advanced quad-color LED technology, Elation Professional will be showing new products at PLASA Focus: Nashville.

One of the highlights of the Elation display is the Platinum Wash ZFX Pro, an ultra-bright quad-color RGBW wash with the "surprise" additions of a motorized zoom and chase/zone effects. Another new RGBW quad-color fixture, the ELAR Quad Panel, is IP-rated for outdoor use and offers designers the extra tool of direct view pixel blinder effects. Attendees will also see the just-arrived Platinum Beam 15R, a larger, more powerful version of Elation's Platinum Beam 5R extreme ACL beam effect, whose bright, narrow beam's ability to "cut through" other effects has made it a choice for many recent high-profile applications, including Super Bowl Village, Bankers Life Fieldhouse, the LA Rising Festival, and the American Idol finale after party.

Here is a closer look at these new products:

Platinum Wash ZFX Pro -- Powered by a cutting-edge high-power, quad-color Osram LED chipset and innovative HO (high output) optical lens design, the Platinum Wash ZFX Pro is 30% brighter than comparable wash fixtures, the company says. Equipped with 19 x 10W Osram RGBW LEDs, it has a total 190W engine, yet rivals a 700W discharge fixture in brightness. This extreme power, combined with the unit's compact size (14.4" x 9" x 19.4"), makes it ideal for touring, concerts, and theatrical productions -- even the largest stages. A new high-speed, flicker-free and smooth electronic dimmer/shutter LED driver, along with built-in macros for variable white color balance from 2,700 - 8,000K and low noise operation mode, make it perfect for broadcast lighting as well. Going beyond the ordinary, the Platinum Wash ZFX Pro puts some added creative tools in the designer's hands, including a motorized zoom (17-43-degree field angle), and chase/zone effects, which are rings of LED array controllable zones that can be used to create visual "eye candy." Equipped with an EWDMX wireless DMX receiver, the Platinum Wash ZFX Pro includes RDM (Remote Device Management) functions, which allow users from compatible control devices to access service mode settings remotely.

ELAR Quad Panel -- This IP65-rated RGBW wash in a die-cast aluminum case was designed and built for rugged production use, indoors or out. Featuring 16 x 10W CREE quad-color LEDs, the half meter (20" x 20") panel can dial up perfectly blended colors for illuminating stages, buildings, landscapes, and other entertainment or architectural elements. It also features a single pixel control mode for creating direct view pixel blinder effects. Integrated rigging was built into the design, so users can "fly" the panels together to form a video wall. Featuring DMX-512 (6 DMX channel modes) or manual control, the ELAR Quad Panel includes built-in color macros, 0-100% dimming and a strobe effect. Using a maximum 290W of power, its output at 2.5m is 12,170 lux.

Platinum Beam 15R -- A more powerful version of Elation's breakout Platinum Beam 5R ACL beam effect, the Platinum Beam 15R is not much larger than the original, but has higher output and more features. Featuring a sharp 3-degree beam angle, it utilizes the new Philips MSD Platinum 5R lamp (8,000K), producing an output of 72,500 lux at 5M (at 3-degrees). It includes stepless frost, allowing it to be used as a hybrid wash effect, as well as an eight-facet prism, 10 dichroic colors, 17 rotating/indexing gobos, a dual-flag mechanical dimming system, variable speed color scrolling, and a macro-function for rotating gobo/prism combinations. Operating on 22 DMX channels, it comes equipped with an integrated DMX recorder and edit functions. The Platinum Beam 15R measures just 13.8"L x 14.5"W x 25"H and weighs 48.5lbs.
