Winners of Inaugural Profile Awards Announced

The inaugural Profile Awards were held June 6 at London's Alexandra Palace with Ayrton as headline sponsor. The awards have been created and coordinated by Durham and Jennie Marenghi in collaboration with the Association of British Theatre Technicians, the Association for Lighting Production and Design, and the Society of Television Lighting and Design. They recognize lighting design excellence in UK television and theatre.

The theatre awards, judged by UK theatre critics, were not open to nominations. The television awards were judged by broadcast professionals, with nominations also allowed. The award trophies are Patt 23M fixtures on stands, a miniature LED version of the iconic Rank Strand Pattern 23 profile fixture modeled and produced in limited numbers by Hugh Chinnick.

In addition to Ayrton's participation, the television awards were sponsored by ChamSys, ELP Broadcast Lighting, LCR, Light Initiative, Roxxlight, and Version 2 Lights. The theatre awards were sponsored by CHAUVET Professional, Elation, ETC, Fix8Group, GLP, TSL, SLX, and Vari-Lite. The pre-show bar was sponsored by Ambersphere Solutions; the goodie bags were sponsored by JLL. Other sponsors included Cameo, Encore, and ER Productions.

The television winners are:
