Sapsis Rigging Shines at the Met Gala

Sapsis supported this year's "the garden of time" theme by installing garden-inspired tapestries along the Grand Staircase.

Sapsis Rigging continued its long-standing relationship with the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art by providing rigging services for the 2024 Met Gala. For over 20 years Sapsis Rigging has hung the scenery, lighting, and décor that has helped make the event such a success year after year.

Michael Sapsis, the Sapsis Rigging project manager, notes, "The Met is an exciting and fun place to work at any time, and the Gala takes it to another level."

Sapsis supported this year's "the garden of time" theme by installing garden-inspired tapestries along the Grand Staircase, tree sculptures and other natural flora throughout the venue and lighting and audio for the dinner in the Temple of Dendur.

Garth Shack, the Sapsis Rigging technical director for the event comments, "Working at the Museum presents special challenges, but, in the end it's always worth the extra effort."
