The winners of the Olivier Awards, which honor achievement in London's West End theatre scene, were announced on April 6.

Nick Lidster was also cited for Fiddler's sound design. Paule Constable and Ben Jacobs took the lighting design award for Cameron Mackintosh's latest revival of the musical Oliver! In the costume design category, Gabrielle Slade won for a revival of the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Richard Stilgoe musical Starlight Express.

Taking the most awards, with three apiece, were Giant, a new play about children's author Roald Dahl; The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Fiddler on the Roof.
