Obsidian Control Systems Launches Comprehensive In-person Training SessionsAs an integral part of Obsidian Control Systems' strong commitment to providing its growing user base with comprehensive ONYX console training and education, the intuitive lighting control brand is launching a new training system of in-person and ongoing training courses. The goal of the new training system is for lighting professionals to grow their knowledge base and improve their skills to become more effective and creative lighting programmers. As Obsidian continues to expand, the company has invested in both advanced training infrastructure and dedicated training personnel. Leading the training sessions will be Obsidian product specialist Matthew Gerardi, whose extensive knowledge and experience in lighting control systems and AV networking will benefit both the novice and skilled programmer. Training courses will cover beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, allowing anyone with or without ONYX experience to get a comprehensive understanding of the powerful software. The training courses are the perfect opportunity for any lighting enthusiast to get behind the desk and take their programming skills to the next level, the company says. Since the creation of DMX controllable lighting, manufacturers have continued to add more and more features into a single lighting fixture. Where once there were 12-24 DMX channels per lighting fixture, now there can be up to 100 DMX channels in extended mode, making one Universe of DMX channels insufficient. Today's lighting control demands require multiple Universes and with that comes the need for more advanced data distribution devices that allow for Universe expansion using Art-Net and sACN. As Obsidian Control Systems encompasses a complete line of both ONYX control and NETRON data distribution products, these training courses will cover how to make it all work together to optimize your lighting control. Three daily sessions at each location will dive into the details of the ONYX platform with focus on the NX4 console, ONYX software, DyLOS pixel composer (intermediate and advanced), NETRON data distribution devices, and Capture design software. The initial series of training sessions will take place June 21 - 23 at the Elation headquarters in Los Angeles and July 19 - 21 at Elation's facility in Miami with more training sessions to be offered at regular intervals throughout the year. Future training dates at additional locations across the US will be announced as they become available. For more information and registration, please visit obsidiancontrol.com/events/category/training. The training sessions follow the successful introduction of the NX1 modular console system at the Prolight+Sound tradeshow in Frankfurt. The NX1 joins the compact yet fully-integrated NX2 and flagship NX4 under the ONYX lighting control platform. With a variety of new features and improvements recently added to ONYX, along with DyLOS and the NETRON data distribution system, lighting professionals are encouraged to take advantage of these training sessions to get the most out of the ONYX platform.
