The Long Reach Long Riders Draw a Crowd

Long Reach Long Riders on their 2013 ride.

The Long Reach Long Riders (LRLR) announce they have assembled the largest group of riders, passengers, and chase car drivers in the history of their annual charity ride. Forty people are making this year's ride including: 28 riders, 8 bike passengers, and two chase cars, with two drivers each. The group hails from all over the USA and one from South Africa. The bikes represented on the ride include Harley Davidson (10), Honda (five), Yamaha (five), Suzuki (five), BMW (two), and Victory (one).

Ride marshal Moe Conn commented, "We're thrilled to have so many people on the ride this year. The more people involved means that much more money raised for the two charities." Kacey Coffin, also a ride marshal, added: "It's great to see not only so many people come back year after year to ride with us, but also new riders signing up for the first time. The first ride in 2004 had eight bikes and now we're up to 28. Here's hoping we can keep this trend going with more bikes next year."

The 11th annual ride starts in Baltimore, Maryland on July 12th and finishes back in Baltimore on July 18th. An added feature this year is corporate sponsorship. "The support provided by our chase car sponsors, Sapsis Rigging and Limelight Productions, along with the T-shirt sponsor Dana Taylor and his Short Reach Short Riders," noted Greg Williams, rider and LRLR co-founder, "helps us ensure that all the money raised for the charities goes directly to the charities."

The Long Reach Long Riders ride for The PLASA Foundation's Behind the Scenes program and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. There is still time to make a donation to either or both of these very worthy charities. For more information on the ride, the riders and how to donate, please visit the URL below.
