LumenRadio Acquires Wireless Solution Sweden from Interlite ABIn a significant merger with implications for the wireless control sector of the lighting market, Interlite AB, the Sweden-based distributor of entertainment lighting equipment, has sold Wireless Solution Sweden (WSS), the manufacturer of wireless DMX equipment, to LumenRadio AB, also based in Sweden. Niclas Arvidsson, CEO for Uddevalla-based Interlite and Wireless Solution, has taken a consultancy role at WSS to help consolidate the leadership of the new company. "Together the two companies will become the undisputed market leader in wireless lighting controls for the professional lighting industry," LumenRadio says in a statement. "Through the merger of the two Swedish tech companies, a heavyweight player is formed with the strength to lead and drive the wireless DMX market." Effective immediately, Wireless Solution Sweden emerges as a separate entity to Interlite AB, although its operation and DNA remains intact with sales, research and development, and production in the existing Uddevalla office. it will run as a separate stand-alone unit to LumenRadio AB, continuing to produce its existing W-DMX products. "We started Wireless Solution in 2003," Arvidsson says, "and we didn't know how successful it was going to be. We jumped through a lot of hurdles, exhibited at countless trade shows, and did most of the groundwork for users to trust and use Wireless DMX products. "Wireless Solution Sweden remains highly profitable as a business," he continues, "and for many years we received a AAA credit-rating in Sweden, the highest accolade you can receive by major credit rating agencies. However, it's time for a new generation to take the business further, expand and develop new products, and continue the work that we have started. This is not an ending, but a new chapter, backed by our present staff and a new team who, for many years, made us grow stronger and pushed us to innovate in the field -- combining these forces will make two highly savvy businesses thrive in the Wireless DMX market." The company also noted that it will retain all staff members. Alexander Hellström, CEO of LumenRadio, says, "We are really excited about this! Together, we will define the wireless standard for the future and, with all the great technology and know-how Wireless Solution has built up over the last two decades, we strongly believe that our existing and future customers will benefit from the combined offer. Professional lighting is a high-stakes, no-nonsense business putting high pressure on suppliers to always deliver, something that Wireless Solution, under the dedicated leadership from Niclas Arvidsson, successfully has done over the last two decades." LumenRadio notes, "The combined business will have a yearly turnover of more than ten million euros and more than 50 employees -- with complementary products and solutions addressing a much bigger, more geographically diverse and non-overlapping customer base. The two brands will be run separately, maintaining their own market identity -- creating a firm belief that both customers and suppliers will benefit from the increased strength of this new entity." "I am happy and positive that the Wireless Solution brand will continue to thrive within the new LumenRadio context," Arvidsson adds. "I think this merger is very good for our customers and the industry in general. The conditions for a truly global standard for wireless DMX are now in place."
