Billington, Gregory, Kantrowitz, and Militello Join Stern in New Disco Lighting Podcast The Heartbeat of the Dance Floor, the podcast that recounts the stories and music that inspired today's dance music culture from the late '70s to modern festivals, launches an episode focusing on lighting designers. Host Marsha Stern is joined by Ken Billington, Paul Gregory, Jason Kantrowitz, and Anne Militello, to discuss how lighting is an integral and highly influential part of the overall experience. The participants talk about their numerous projects across a variety of disciplines, including Broadway, concert touring and architectural Installations; their common denominator is their experiences in the New York City disco/club scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Along with tales from their careers, you'll learn how they've influenced so much of today's culture and our visual experiences and how the basic premise of the "Heartbeat" remains consistent in the creative process. The podcast will drop November 11 at noon, 1pm on YouTube. It can be accessed at the Heart on the Dance Floor website (heartbeatofthedancefloor.com), on Spotify (smarturl.it/hotdf/spotify), Deezer (smarturl.it/hotdf/deezer), SoundCloud (smarturl.it/hotdf/soundcloud), and YouTube (smarturl.it/hotdf/youtube).
