Equipson's LIGHTSHARK Core iO Makes its UK Debut at PLASA 2024Spanish manufacturer Equipson will be addressing the needs of AV system integrators at PLASA 2024 by highlighting its LIGHTSHARK range of DMX-based hardware lighting consoles. Making its UK debut on Booth C17 is the LIGHTSHARK Core iO, a lighting console that supports most protocols (DMX512, Art-Net, sACN, MIDI, UDP, OSC, and HTTP), and is compatible with integration systems such as CRESTON, AMX or Control 4. This latest addition to the LIGHTSHARK range incorporates GPIO ports and implements RS-232 and RS-485 protocols. It also features a real-time clock that maintains time accuracy for up to five years and a dedicated Alarm Port that allows users to prioritize a specific state over scenes playing at that time. The LIGHTSHARK range includes the LS-1 hardware console with assignable faders and rotary controls; the more affordable LS-Core; the LS-Wing Open Sound Control (OSC) hardware controller, and three multiprotocol DMX streaming devices -- each supporting a different numbers of DMX universes -- that are collectively referred to as LS-NODE. These products are aimed at all types of venues, from small theatres to large stadia, and give lighting engineers the ability to control up to eight DMX universes and 4000+ DMX channels, all completely integrated via smartphones and tablets. In addition, the range is fully compatible with other manufacturer's equipment because the products work with industry-standard DMX and Art-Net lighting protocols, as well as any Operating System (Android Linux, Windows, and macOS). At PLASA 2024, Equipson will also show the LS W1 remote control, which completes LIGHTSHARK systems by providing a wall-mount touch device with eight programmable buttons to control scenes and trigger any other action from the LIGHTSHARK console. With this device, which is easily configurable from the console, end users don't have to access the software interface to execute common scenes and commands, the company says. In addition to these new products, LIGHTSHARK will also be showing its latest software upgrade (version 1.5.25), which applies to all products within the LIGHTSHARK range. Among the improvements delivered by this software are a Responsive UI that automatically rearranges to fit any screen regardless of its shape or size, plus new functions such as "HighLight/LowLight" and Fixture Grouping. There are also new time saving features such as Record Merge and Record Remove, which make it possible for programmers to quickly include or remove their information in the selected Cue -- or in all the Cues of a playback -- without having to use the EDIT+UPDATE function. Other key features of the new software include the implementation of Art-Net v4, which increases the number of Art-Net Universes available from four to eight; the inclusion of Digital Patch, which makes it possible to assign any universe from the console to any network universe, even when they have different protocols; the introduction of Unicast, which defines the specific IP of the node or device to which universe information needs to be sent, and the inclusion of a WEB user manual within LIGHTSHARK, which gives users access to many different, step by step video tutorials and screen recordings so that they can learn new and exciting ways to control and enhance their light shows.
