Chauvet Professional Maverick MK Pyxis Wins Parnelli Award For Indispensable TechnologyThe Chauvet Professional Maverick MK Pyxis has been giving lighting designers new ways to create unique and memorable looks. On Friday January 25, designers returned the favor at the NAMM Show by honoring the multi-purpose LED fixture with the Parnelli Award for Indispensable Technology. Determined by the vote of lighting professionals, the Parnelli Awards, which are sponsored by PLSN, are widely regarded as one of the most prestigious lighting accolades in the world. The Maverick MK Pyxis was recognized for the way its revolutionary set of features has been used to create highly original designs on tours (ranging from country's Luke Bryan, to EDM's Louis the Child), television broadcasts (MTV's TRL program) and a variety of other applications, the company says. A combination beam and wash effect, the Maverick MK Pyxis features a ring of nine 15W RGBW LEDs and a 60W RGBW LED center pixel with a 3-degree beam angle. The versatile fixture offers continuous 360-degree pan and tilt movement to create looks that are unique and varied. With a wide zoom range (7-degrees to 45-degrees for the outer ring of LEDs), built-in color effects, built-in gobo wheel, and a Virtual Color wheel with instantaneous access to 21 colors, this powerful, compact light is also quick to respond to design changes. "Our design team poured their heart and soul into the Maverick MK Pyxis," says Albert Chauvet, CEO of Chauvet. "We listened to designers who wanted a fixture that they could use to expand their looks and create something unique in a variety of applications. We are honored by this award, and honored too that so many great LDs have made this fixture such an important part of their designs."
