Rocky Goes the Distance in Design at Drama Desk AwardsThe 59th Annual Drama Desk Awards honored the best of Broadway, Off Broadway, and Off-Off Broadway in the same competitive categories on June 1 at The Town Hall. Rocky's Christopher Barreca and Christopher Akerlind took out the competition for Outstanding Set Design and Outstanding Lighting Design, respectfully. Awards for Best Sound Design went to Brian Ronan for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and Matt Tierney for the play Machinal. Aaron Rhyne, with A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder, took home the award for Outstanding Projection Design, while Outstanding Costume Design was presented to William Ivey Long for Bullets Over Broadway: The Musical.
