Design & Drafting Adds New Updates to LD Assistant Ac13.5

Design & Drafting, a global provider of professional lighting design software, has released a new update for their award-winning software application LD Assistant. LD Assistant is the application of choice for entertainment lighting design, scenic design, and event planning, comprising a solid platform with an array of options that have enjoyed a continuous evolution since the program's creation. The new update introduces more special features that make it easier for designers to interact with their projects and clients.

New cloth, water, and beam effects in Ac13.5 greatly improve the realism of plots and renderings, while intuitive dialog box control allows for precise placement, timing, and control of the effects. Cloth effects allow wind movement to be added to drapery, flags, or other soft goods by simply drawing and extruding a polyline and then applying turbulence, transparency, and damping values to the object. Water effects produce elegant fountains and pools of water, while new lens effects include beam turbulence, which adds wind turbulence to selected light beams.

LD Assistant's 3D audio capabilities provide extreme versatility in sound design for walk-through presentations. By adding audio files to the Ac13.5 design, audio space, panning, and crossfades are accurately represented as the user moves through each room, adding another sense of realism to a walk-through movie. Additionally, the advanced rendering capabilities have been improved in the program's real-time simulator.
