Thirteenth Bonnaroo in the Books with Bandit Lites

	Featuring Elton John, Bonnaroo's lights were provided by Bandit Lites for event producer, Lambda Productions.

Another weekend on "The Farm" has come to a close, and while others may be envisioning a scene from Green Acres, for 90,000 Bonnaroo attendees, The Farm is home to one of the most epic musical events of the summer. Bandit Lites once again teamed up with Hadden Hippsley of Lambda Productions to provide the lighting for the weekend.

"This is my first ever festival in America," shared one performer. "And I heard it's the best one."

That performer was none other than Elton John, who closed out the three day festival while tens of thousands looked on. Bandit Lites worked with lighting designer Kevin "Stick" Bye to provide lighting for the legend who performed classics such as "Your Song," "Crocodile Rock," "Bennie and the Jets," and even dedicated "Don't Let the Sun Go Down one Me" to the late Casey Kasem, who had passed earlier that morning. Special guest Ben Folds later joined Elton on stage to serenade the crowd with "Grey Seal."

Bandit's Dizzy Gosnell worked diligently to create a lighting design that would duplicate Elton's touring rig, an effort Bye recognized by saying, "I would have to thank Dizzy first, foremost, and above all for dealing with the challenges of duplicating our touring rig as closely as possible while still providing a useful rig for the festival as a whole. Above and beyond recognition for him keeping me in the loop and taking care of business at all time! I also want to say thanks to (project manager) Matt King for picking up on the project seamlessly and to Aaron Swetland for help on site. It was a challenging project, especially with us doing a show the night before in Charlotte and us arriving at 2am for our load in."

Bandit supplied Lycian M2 Long throw spots, Philips Vari-Lite VL 3500 Spots, VL 3500 Washes, VL 3000 Spots, Clay Paky Sharpy Spots, Sharpy Washes, Martin Professional Mac Auras for zoom floor lights, and multiple MA Lighting grand MA 2 full consoles.

"I did not receive any negative feedback from management," added Bye, "and I do know that Elton and the band were extremely happy with the show! At the end of the day, that's what matters on our end."

While Elton John performed Sunday, the weekend was bursting at the seams with incredible acts, ranging from Vampire Weekend, The Avett Brothers, Frank Ocean, Jack White of the White Stripes, Wiz Khalifa to The Flaming Lips and Kanye West. A quintessential silent disco took place, while the cinema tent boasted Q&A sessions with The Farrelly Brothers (Peter and Bobby) about their Dumb & Dumber sequel, and David Wain sharing his brand new film They Came Together and his cult classic, Wet Hot American Summer.

Bandit is proud to have provided the lighting for the main stages in addition to supplementary equipment for headliners such including Pretty Lights and R. Kelly. Bandit also worked with Kanye West's touring lighting director Eric Gorleski, with significant support coming from both the mainstage production manager, Steve Drymalski, and the second stage production manager, Paul Dalen.
