Bandit Lites Chair HonoredOn November 13, 2013 The University of Tennessee bestowed one its' highest honors on Bandit Lites chair Michael T. Strickland as he was presented with the Development Council Service Award. The award recognizes exceptional service in the advancement of the university toward the achievement of excellence. Strickland has long served the University in a number of roles, including on the athletics board, the chancellors associates, the college of business deans advisory council, the development council, Vols teach board, and many other such engagements. He is very active in the university in an ongoing role and participates in a number of activities and causes. Strickland states it well as he said: "Education if the key to everyone's future. I owe a large part of my success to this great university and giving back is the least I can do. We all need to realize that our future is only as bright as the next generation of students, and it is our duty to make sure they are as well educated and well prepared for that future.
