Ron Morissette Steps Down from SolotechAfter a long and successful career that led Ron Morissette to be in involved in virtually every aspect of the entertainment industry, he recently announced that he has chosen to hang up his skates! Over the last four decades Morissette, an industry pioneer, has been at the forefront of innovations that have significantly advanced the fields of entertainment and audiovisual technology. In 2008, his successful track record led him to join Solotech in the role of general manager, corporate development. In that capacity he was one of the prime movers of the expansion policy across Canada for Solotech's integration division. More recently, Morissette put all of his energy into the realization of a long-cherished project -- the start-up of a Solotech office in Toronto which, to Morissette's great satisfaction, rapidly became a success in the greater Toronto area and beyond. Morissette credits this success to his dynamic and talented Toronto-based team. Paul Tytaneck, his valued colleague in Toronto, summed up the respect he has for the man in a few words; "In the eyes of the industry, Ron was a great ambassador for Solotech. His joie de vivre coupled with his determination were an inspiration to us all. His vision motivates us to continue the work he began ensuring that Solotech will continue to thrive in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond." Jean-Louis Blanchard, Solotech's vice president - integration division, stressed Morissette's deeply human side: "Working with him has been both an honor and a pleasure. His unshakable passion for his work and his deep sense of commitment were reflected in everything he did. He most certainly will be missed and he can be very proud of what he accomplished." The company says Solotech thanks Ron Morissette for all those successful years in the organization and wishes him a happy and active retirement. Morissette now intends to devote time to his other passions such as travelling with his wife Jane and reading the French classics. The company says: "Still, we bet he will continue to keep a keen eye on everything that happens in our industry..."
