Olivier Award Nominations Announced The Olivier Awards, which honor achievement in London's West End theatre scene, have been announced. Nominees for the White Light Award for Best Lighting Design, the nominees include Neil Austin, for the acclaimed (and gender-switched) version of the musical Company; Howell Binkley, for the London transfer of the Broadway hit Come From Away; Jon Clark, for The Inheritance, the two-part gay history play by the American writer Matthew Lopez, produced at the Young Vic and Noël Coward Theatres; and Lee Curran, for the Almeida Theatre revival of Tennessee Williams' Summer and Smoke, which transferred to the Duke of York's Theatre. Nominees for the Royal Albert Hall Award for Best Sound Design include Paul Arditti and Christopher Reid, for The Inheritance; Mike Beer, for A Monster Calls, produced at The Old Vic; Carolyn Downing, for Summer and Smoke; Gareth Owen, for Come From Away; and Nick Powell, for The Lehman Trilogy, produced at the National Theatre and soon to be seen at Park Avenue Armory in New York. Nominees for Blue-I Theatre Technology Award for Best Set Design include Bunny Christie, for Company; Bob Crowley, for The Inheritance; Es Devlin, for The Lehman Trilogy and Anna Fleischle for Home, I'm Darling, produced at the National and Duke of York's Theatres. Costume design nominees include Fly Davis, for a new production of the Broadway musical Caroline, or Change, at Playhouse Theatre; Anna Fleischle, for Home, I'm Darling; Gabriella Slade for the musical, Six; and Catherine Zuber, for the London transfer of the recent Broadway revival of The King and I. The awards will be given out on April 7.
