Memorial Fund Set Up for Demfis' Daughter

A fund has been established in memory of Demfis Fyssicopulos, well-known concert lighting designer and programmer, who recently passed away at the age of 41. Fyssicopulos' sister Kati says contributions will go to daughter Onna's "future education plans, as well as assist with the bills that always crop up when something unexpected like this happens."

Fyssicopulos reportedly died while surfing two weeks ago near his California home. His clients included Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Elton John, Maxwell, Carrie Underwood, Green Day, Lenny Kravitz, and The Black Eyed Peas. He programmed Michael Jackson's This is It tour and was responsible for using the famous hologram of Tupac Shakur seen during Dr. Dre and Snoop's performance at Coachella in 2012.

Visitors to the memorial fund's site, powered by gofundme.com, are also encouraged to post fond memories and stories of Fyssicopulos' life and career.

Sister Kati says, "Demfis loved his work and was wonderful at it but he also loved his friends and colleagues and I want to thank you all for all the friendship, love, and support you have given him over the years. Losing him leaves a great big hole in our hearts as well as in our lives...He left us much too soon...Thank you for loving my Brother."
