Eric McAfee Takes on the Role of Director of Technical Design for Stagecraft Stagecraft welcomes Eric McAfee into the role of director of technical design. McAfee holds a BFA in Theatre and has a wide range of experience working as a rigging installer, project manager, and technical designer. He has worked for several prominent companies in our industry including 13 years at JR Clancy, where he served as the dealer project manager, overseeing the submittal process, field checks, and shipments to dealers' jobsites. He was also involved with Technical Sales working with architects and consultants on rigging systems budgeting and design. After JR Clancy he joined the architectural firm of Westlake Reed Leskosky, as a theatre specialist designing theatre rigging and lighting systems. McAfee's next chapter brought him to InterAmerica Stage, where he served as a project manager, rigging Inspector, and the director of safety before coming to Stagecraft. McAfee is a member of the inaugural ETCP Rigger-Theatre rigging class of 2005 and is recognized as a subject matter expert by ESTA. Some of his responsibilities as director of technical design at Stagecraft will be leading the design department in collaboration with project managers crafting submittals, direct contact with architects and theatre consultants, as well as end-users. McAfee will also have input with immediate, mid-term, and long-term strategy discussions with Stagecraft ownership.
