Medialon Introduces Two New Products at ISE in AmsterdamMedialon announces LonCloud (LonCloud.com), a new web service to monitor critical data of audiovisual installations equipped with a Medialon Controller. Critical data, such as lamp hour usage of video projectors or video server operations, are permanently monitored by Medialon Controllers. Now it is possible to regularly send snapshots of those values to the LonCloud service where users can monitor the data in real time and set up thresholds to send alarms to technicians so they can act before equipment fails. LonCloud is designed for integrators and offers several levels of access rights, allowing professionals to set up LonCloud monitoring for their customers and resell the monitoring services. LonCloud, as a web service with an easy-to-use graphical interface, also offers a diagnosis tool to compare data values across time, such as room temperature and correlated projector lamp failures. The data is permanently stored in the LonCloud service, so statistics about long-term system usage can be observed. For maximum security, Medialon controllers initiate encrypted outbound connections to the LonCloud servers which means there are no firewalls or routers to set up and there are no inbound connections to local sites. "We consider it to be an additional feature that integrators can use to increase revenue by offering high quality, proactive service to their customers. Having a technician come over to change a projector lamp before it fails is an amazing service museums or corporations are willing to pay for," says Medialon CEO Alex Carru. "Using an existing infrastructure, a safe connection, and a simple setup in the controller makes it a no brainer. The key factor is real simplicity, it can be set up in minutes." The second new product, Overture software from Medialon centralizes audiovisual control throughout an entire building drastically reducing hardware need and programming time. The full integration with information technology and building management systems allows better security and energy saving. The use of Internet compatible technology and data collection helps IT department to easily manage large systems. Connecting and controlling all audiovisual equipment of an enterprise from a central point, control new generation audiovisual devices such as video conferencing software or interfacing them with the IT infrastructure and the building management system becomes critical in today's corporate building. Acquiring, monitoring, and managing data from those equipments enables to ease the use of audiovisual assets and create performance efficiencies to reduce operational costs and improve user experience. The company says Medialon Overture solves all these challenges by making the audiovisual equipment and its control part of the IT and the building infrastructure. It offers connectivity between different worlds enabling them to work together; it reduces the user interfaces programming time and hardware used and makes the audiovisual system part of the smart building. Medialon Overture is designed to control thousands of devices and offers user interfaces via web technology and iOS/Android apps. Both products will be demonstrated at ISE in Amsterdam, running February 4 - 6, in the Medialon booth Hall 2 stand A 42.
