Warehouse Sound Invests in RCF D-LineOne of Scotland's leading sales and rental companies has made a major commitment to RCF's next generation process controlled D-Line series. With bases in Edinburgh and Glasgow, the long-standing Warehouse Sound Services has purchased 16 of RCF's stylish new HDL 20-A compact line array enclosures and four complementary SUB 8006-AS 2 x 18" active high-power subwoofers to enhance its rental fleet. According to Warehouse sales director Derek Blair, the combination of an optimized active system, with an enviable price/performance ratio in a compact, composite enclosure, provided a compelling reason for the investment. Formed over 30 years ago, Warehouse Sound has been an RCF sub-distributor for the past four years, initially purchasing their contractor systems before pulling back from direct installations to form a more transparent partnership with their AV customers, assisting with design and build through to final commissioning. Instead it was their quest for a utility, high-value rental product, capable of generating high rental returns that urged them to follow up a recommendation to review the HDL 20-A. "Above all else the product needed to be from an ethical company that would enable us to promote the brand with confidence. We knew that RCF were such a company." Blair and hire manager Pete Harris had first noticed the HDL 20-A's aesthetic appeal by chance as they walked past the RCF stand at this year's Frankfurt Prolight + Sound show, and after being subjected to a demo by RCF's Phil Price and Mick Butler 24 hours later, they were convinced. What the two men heard left them in no doubts that the HDL 20-A could service many of their own productions and at the same time be rented far more competitively - and to a much wider customer base - than their top end system. "We have very high hopes for the HDL 20-A, which will help us build market share right across the board," believes Blair. The vocal presence is fantastic and the low end sounds amazing. On top of that it's sufficiently compact to fit in the average van and with no external amps it requires little prep time -- which is a further advantage. All in all it's an excellent alternative to what we already have." "We see this initial order as just the beginning and expect to increase the inventory if interest is as we expect," summarizes Blair. "In fact we have already received a great response from customers since informing them that we were purchasing this system."
