Behind the Scenes Raises Funds and Awareness at PLASA Focus: NashvilleBehind the Scenes participated at the recent PLASA Focus: Nashville event to raise both funds and awareness about the charity. The fundraising was made by possible by the generous donation from Mainstage Theatrical Supply, Inc. of an ETC Source Four Lustr+ LED Light Engine as a raffle prize. The raffle winner was Steve Gilbard from coolux. Dean Sternke, vice president of Mainstage Theatrical Supply, Inc. commented, "We were happy to have this opportunity to contribute. In the day-to-day hustle, it is easy to lose sight of what really matters. Behind the Scenes helps focus in on that." Once again the industry stepped up to care for its own and Behind the Scenes raised just over $1,000 -- enough to pay rent for someone on the brink of eviction, to buy them several months of much needed medications, or pay for physical therapy visits so they can get strong enough to go back to work. Behind the Scenes provides financial assistance to entertainment technology professionals who are seriously ill or injured. Grants may be used for medical expenses or basic living expenses. Funds are available to anyone who has worked at least five years full time in the industry -- whether behind the curtain or behind the camera, or for one of the companies who manufacture or supply products and services to the industry. Behind the Scenes brings help and hope in times of crises. Individuals or companies can support Behind the Scenes by making donations online at the URL below.
