NATEAC Supports One of its Own at a Concert in New York City

Ryan Ingebritsen, NATEAC presenter, composer and sound artist, along with the Assemblage Ensemble will create a multi-dimensional sonic space at Spectrum on Sunday night, July 22 at 7:00pm. The event is an evening of improvisation that will use the architecture of the space as a meta-instrument with fellow musicians and Assemblage Ensemble members Charles Waters, Andrew Barker, and others. Musicians will be placed throughout the space and their sound will literally climb the walls and move about the space while the audience can roam and experience the performance from a number of different perspectives. The performance will be an exploration of what can be done perfomatively with space and architecture and a chance to allow musician and audience alike to share their experiences and exchange ideas about the future of music performance and performances spaces.

As a NATEAC presenter Ingebritsen is participating in a panel discussion on "Non-Traditional Spaces for Classical Music." The conference session takes place on Monday, July 23 at 2:30pm. Joining Ingebritsen on the panel are Josh Dachs and Gregory Miller.

Spectrum is a performance space on the second floor of 121 Ludlow Street on Manhattan's Lower East Side just north of Delancey Street. Tickets for the event are $15 and available at the door. The performance begins at 7:00pm.

The North American Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference takes place on July 21-24 at the Hilton New York. For more information, see the URL below.
