Corporate Magic Produces City of Dallas' Bid for 2016 RNC ConventionOn Thursday, June 12, the City of Dallas made its final bid to host the 2016 Republican National Convention (RNC). To help convince the RNC site selection team that Dallas, Texas is the ideal location for the convention, the City leaned on Corporate Magic to make the final presentation. The spectacular event, held at the American Airlines Center, featured the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars cheerleaders, Dallas star Linda Gray, live performances by the Kilgore College Rangerettes and the Salvation Army band, indoor fireworks and confetti, and two red-white-and-blue-clad elephants. Several other unique flourishes were added, including videos of Ronald Reagan's acceptance speech from the 1984 convention in Dallas. The company says it was an extravagant and enthusiastic display that surely distinguished Dallas from the other contending cities. "I'm very proud of the City of Dallas and the many people who volunteered their time to ensure an amazing event," said Jeffrey Kirk, chief operating officer of Dallas-based Corporate Magic. "We understand that politics can be quite polarizing. However, many of the volunteers, having a different political viewpoint, showed their civic pride and recognized the economic impact of such a large event in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. On behalf of Corporate Magic, I want to thank all of you for your support and service to your city." For more coverage of the event, please visit http://plasa.me/fmprq.
