Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association Announce their First Membership Meeting WeekendThe Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association (TSDCA) announces their first membership meeting weekend, with events for both members as well as the general public. On June 5 - 6, the TSDCA will hold two days of public panels and discussions regarding sound design and composition in theatre. It will be held at 1315 Studios, 13-15 West 28th Street, 8th Floor, New York, New York 10001 from 11am-6pm on both days. Guest speakers and panelists will include some of the most prominent designers and composers working in the industry today including Tony Meola (Wicked), Darron West (Misery), and Scott Lehrer (Shuffle Along), as well as Broadway legends Abe Jacob and Paul Gemignani. TSDCA is a professional membership organization of sound designers and composers for the performing arts working in the United States. The first meeting of their membership will take place on June 6th, followed by a full public launch that is scheduled for early July. The weekend's lead sponsor is d&b audiotechnik, with Ralf Zuleeg, head of sales services and application engineering, making a special presentation titled "The Future Of Sound Reinforcement." Schedule of events are as follows: Sunday, June 5th - 11:30am - 12pm - Welcome reception - 12pm - Introduction to TSDCA by Victoria (toy) Deiorio and David Budries, followed by a lunchtime discussion "Identity of a Sound Designer & Theatrical Composer," hosted by Abe Jacob and Jane Shaw. - 2pm - panel discussion "Sound Design: The State Of The Art," featuring Tei Blow, moderated by David Budries. - 4pm - "The Future Of Sound Reinforcement," a presentation by Ralf Zuleeg, head of sales services and application engineering, d&b audiotechnik , introduced by Tom Clark. - 6pm - special reception honoring John Leonard , hosted by Chris Cronin and Jim van Bergen. Monday, June 6th - 11am - panel discussion "Work Practices: Composition," featuring Mark Bennett, Rob Milburn, Michael Bodeen, and Michael Roth, moderated by Victoria (toy) Deiorio. - 1pm - lunchtime discussion "Building The Sound Team," featuring Scott Lehrer, Abe Jacob, John Leonard, Chris Cronin, Anna Lee Craig, and Alex Neumann, moderated by Lindsay Jones. - 3pm - panel discussion "Collaboration On A Musical," featuring Tony Meola and Paul Gemignani, moderated by John Kilgore. - 5pm - open roundtable discussion - "Questions/Answers/Suggestions/Responses," moderated by Rob Milburn and David Budries.
