GDS ArcSystem Wins ABTT Lighting Product of the Year Award GDS received yet another notable accolade at this year's ABTT Show. The Lighting Product of the Year Award went to ArcSystem, GDS' new LED house-light system. The award was presented to Richard Cuthbert, director of engineering for GDS. The judges were impressed by the wireless dimming performance of ArcSystem, a custom fitting manufactured for new build and retrofit existing tungsten lighting in auditoria and front of house locations. ArcSystem, from GDS, is a new concept that provides a low-energy future-proofing solution for auditoria house lighting. ArcSystem is an LED based, fully dimmable unit with a warm white tungsten color output. The system is designed to emulate a filament fitting in its dimming response and is one of the first LED products to be dimmed to zero without snapping. Each unit is fitted with a wireless transceiver for control communication; when multiple units are installed, they form a communication matrix, enabling stability and completely flexible control. ArcSystem allows installers and specifies the option to offer a solution for retro fit, without the need to run additional control cabling. Perhaps the most important factor is the low energy element, given run time and maintenance costs early estimations suggest that ArcSystem will provide a return on investment within 36 months." Richard Cuthbert commented, "We are honored to receive this recognition from ABTT. The R&D department continually strive to provide innovative resolutions to the challenges facing our industry. We hope that the ArcSystem range provides a cost effective, future-proof solution for auditoria lighting."
