Sightline Commercial Solutions Offers Interactive AIA CES Course on Architectural Railing for Specifiers

Sightline Commercial Solutions' interactive course for specifiers on architectural railing.

Architects and designers looking to expand their understanding and specification skills related to ornamental railing systems can gain expert insight thanks to a continuing education course offered by Sightline Commercial Solutions, a leading fabricator and global supplier of architectural railing solutions for the commercial, sports venue, live entertainment, and performing arts industries. Registered with The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education Systems, this in-person course titled "Plant Tour: A Better Understanding of Architectural Railing Systems" exposes participants to the intricacies of the design and fabrication process through an interactive tour held at the company's manufacturing facility in Minneapolis.

AIA Course Number: SCS2024PT is an introductory-level program focused on educating participants about the means and methods of constructing ornamental railings, from materials and finishes to design considerations, manufacturing, and code compliance. Through presentation, up-close observation and hands-on experience, participants will strengthen their knowledge of how production methods, including environmental considerations, welds, machining, automation and finishes, affect the system design and performance of architectural guardrails.

"When it comes to guardrails, there is no need to compromise a beautiful aesthetic for function and safety; architectural railings systems can deliver both," said Jon Chase, chief engineering officer at Sightline Commercial Solutions. "Our AIA program aims to help specifiers better understand this integral design element in terms of structure, safety and style by pairing exposure to state-of-the-art manufacturing and fabrication techniques with discussion around accessibility, code compliance, materials and other important design considerations."

Upon course completion, AIA members will earn three CES credits and all participants will receive a certificate of completion. To learn more about this and other continuing education offerings from Sightline Commercial Solutions, visit the URL below.
