Pharos Connects with SixEye

New technology startup SixEye welcomes its first partner Pharos Controls with their SixEye-powered remote management solution: Pharos Cloud.

Founded in London in 2016 by CEO Simon Hicks, SixEye has created a flexible remote management platform which allows effortless product integration for manufacturers of lighting and audio-visual control systems, the company says.

Manufacturers integrate their products with SixEye using its lightweight, cross-platform software development kit (SDK), which provides native remote management features without the hassle of additional hardware, web app development, or server management. SixEye enables each manufacturer to provide their own branded web application.

Pharos Architectural Controls has joined SixEye's platinum partner program. Due to start rolling out during 2018, Pharos Cloud allows Pharos customers to monitor the status of Pharos controllers, fire triggers, upload new Pharos Designer projects and apply software updates. No additional hardware needs to be installed, initial setup takes seconds and the solution works over any Internet connection -- even cellular, the company says.

"Pharos Cloud offers our customers exciting new remote management features in an easy, Secure, and reliable way," says Pharos product manager, Richard Leivers. "Integrating our products with SixEye has been quick and straightforward, enabling us to deliver a major new feature that encompasses our entire product range."

All new and existing Pharos controllers supported by the Pharos Designer 2 software can be connected to Pharos Cloud. Each user can see all their projects, the controllers in those projects, and any other users they've invited to manage the project with them.

This also allows for next-level customer support; through Pharos Cloud someone working with a Pharos controller anywhere in the world will be able to grant temporary access to the Pharos support team, the company says. Pharos can then help directly; diagnosing configuration problems on the project and even uploading new programming.

"Pharos prides itself on excellent technical support, so anything that can help Pharos provide this support faster and more effectively was always going to appeal," continues Leivers.

Hicks comments, "Pharos has a huge presence worldwide with projects ranging from theme park rides to skyscraper façades, and SixEye is excited to offer this new remote management solution that not only integrates with Pharos' existing products but also bolsters their commitment to excellent service."

Pharos Cloud will be in preview on the Pharos booth at Light & Building, Hall 4.1 J70, March 18-23, 2018, Messe Frankfurt, Germany. SixEye team members will also be available at the booth.

In additional news, SixEye announces that Bas Hoksbergen has joined the company as its new business development manager. Hicks describes the appointment as "the ideal combination of person, product and timing -- we're very pleased to be working with Bas as we bring SixEye's solution to market. Having deployed large projects of exactly the kind that SixEye is designed to manage, Bas' contribution will be invaluable as we add new features and fine tune the offer."

Hoksbergen brings well over a decade of experience in the architectural lighting industry from previous roles with Philips ColorKinetics, Philips Lighting, and Pharos Controls. In fact, he will continue to work part-time as architectural market manager for Pharos Controls during the early stages of SixEye's growth. Pharos has signed up with SixEye as a partner manufacturer, so for Hoksbergen there's a natural link between the roles.

He comments, "SixEye's approach to a remote management solution demonstrates a deep understanding of the needs of control system manufacturers and their customers, unrivaled in the market today. I'm excited to be joining them at the start of their growth."

Hoksbergen will be based near Utrecht in the Netherlands and at SixEye's offices in London. He'll also be attending forthcoming industry events.
