Theatre Projects Expanding its Presence in Denver and Rocky Mountain Region

Theatre Projects is doubling down on Denver. The Rocky Mountain office is a major hub for the company's mid-American business, steadily growing since the space opened in 2018. And as the workload expands, so does Theatre Projects' footprint. In the past year, the company has added seven employees to the office's lineup, and just this month, Theatre Projects moved principal Jim Niesel out west to help lead the Colorado cohort.

"Denver is a vibrant, exciting city and a rising force in the west," says Niesel. "I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to lead our team there."

Niesel has spent twenty-seven years with Theatre Projects as a project manager, theatre equipment designer, and AV designer. In addition to programming and planning theatre buildings, he coordinates the project management team and serves as a mentor for members of staff. Niesel will work as a senior leader in Denver, learning from the office and their experience over the past four years, while supporting the direction of the increasingly busy branch.

When asked about Niesel's move to Denver, general manager Daniel Ordower offers, "Jim is a rockstar and the obvious choice to lead the Denver office as principal during this period of rapid growth in the Rockies. He tirelessly serves our clients while leading and mentoring our team. His dedication is unrivaled, and with him at the helm in Denver, we are poised for an exciting period of expansion."

Denver and the Rocky Mountain region have proven to be a strong match for Theatre Projects. The location opening marked the firm's fifth international office (today there are six), and it connects Theatre Projects to local talent, a diverse set of partners, and new clients interested in a consultant that understands not only the industry at large, but also the nuances of their region and how venues best operate there. And as Theatre Projects grows its commitment to strategic planning, management and operational consulting, AV consulting, and engagement with a wider variety of arts, culture, and entertainment spaces, Denver is central to that effort.
