STUFISH ASIA Opens in Hong Kong

STUFISH ASIA

STUFISH announces that the company is joining forces with Activation Group, a Chinese event marketing and sports promotion agency -- establishing STUFISH ASIA, as a permanent presence in China and Asia-Pacific.

Based in Hong Kong, the new entertainment production and producing house STUFISH ASIA will continue to support existing Asian relationships and develop new opportunities in the live show industry and creation of original entertainment.

The presence and work of STUFISH is already renowned throughout China. Recent projects include the multiple award-winning Han Show Theatre in Wuhan, Dai Show Theatre in Xishuangbanna, Nanchang Wanda Mall, and, of course, the acclaimed Beijing 2008 Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies. So opening STUFISH ASIA was a natural step for STUFISH and Activation Group.

Activation Group is a marketing and experiential events serving China, with offices in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Beijing. Committed to bringing the latest and foremost international experiential marketing ideas to its clients, Activation Group is the go-to team for entertainment and premium brands across Asia including: Le Tour De France branded events in China, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Mercedes-Benz, and international movie premieres.

STUFISH provides architecture, design, and production under one roof on a global scale. Their work for world famous artists and acts redefines the live show experience and has allowed this studio to become the leading practitioners of the complete show delivery package. As entertainment architects, STUFISH delivers every element -- from designing the building and set to show creation and production. Their portfolio includes concert tours for Pink Floyd, Queen, The Rolling Stones, U2, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Michael Buble, and One Direction. Theatrical designs include Monty Python Live (Mostly), We Will Rock You, and Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas as well as their own production Soho (The Peacock, London 2017). Other work includes the Buckingham Palace Jubilee Concerts for HM the Queen and the Pink Floyd Exhibition at the V&A.

The company says STUFISH ASIA will now be taking China and Asia-Pacific by storm, with plans to deliver outstanding pieces of work in the region -- as it is "already doing worldwide."

Based in STUFISH ASIA's Hong Kong offices will be managing director and founding director of STUFISH ASIA June Cheng, whose expertise in the industry saw her manage the opening ceremonies for Hong Kong Disneyland 2005 and was a founding director of Activation Events in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan.

Jem Shaw is STUFISH ASIA's founding director and production director of STUFISH ASIA having moved to Hong Kong in 1992 to work in the then burgeoning events industry. He first worked with Cheng as her technical director on the 2010 Shanghai Expo Opening Ceremony.

Wingo Chan, STUFISH ASIA's in-house producer, joins the team from Dalian Wanda Group, the biggest Real Estates group in China, where since 2014 he has worked with giant international producers and companies, and also alongside STUFISH when he coordinated and managed the production of their new built theatre projects for the Dalian Wanda Group.

At their new Hong Kong offices the STUFISH ASIA team enjoyed a delightful tea ceremony also attended by: Paul Cockle - production director, STUFISH; Ray Winkler - CEO and design director, STUFISH; Paul Preston - director, STUFISH; and Steve Lau - CEO, Activation Group.

With the support of all of the teams that make up STUFISH and Activation Group, STUFISH ASIA is looking forward to a busy 2017.
