Harman's Martin Certified Authorized Economic OperatorHarman's Martin is now certified as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), a counter-terrorism and global trade certification, and part of the World Customs Organization's framework of standards to Secure and Facilitate global trade (SAFE). AEO Certification benefits include easier access to customs simplifications and facilitation with regard to customs controls relating to security. Certification also puts the company in a more favorable position to comply with any new security requirements. Economically, transportation costs fall as trade goods are made available more quickly. Society as a whole benefits as well through a safer, more secure trading of goods. The growth of global trade and increasing security threats to the international movement of goods have forced customs administrations to increasingly shift their focus to securing the international trade flow. Through the AEO Certification, Martin has proven to have high-quality internal processes in place that will prevent goods in international transport to be tampered with and has met the following criteria: customs compliance, appropriate record-keeping, financial solvency, and appropriate security and safety standards. Additionally, Martin's headquarter facility in Aarhus, Denmark, and factory in Frederikshavn, are now counter-terrorism secured according to the AEO Certification regulations.
