Elliot Norton Award Winners Announced

The Elliot Norton Awards, which honor achievement in the Greater Boston theatre scene, were given out on May 21.

In the design categories, the entire team behind Home, produced by ArtsEmerson, was cited in the large theatre category. They include Steven Dufala (scenery), Karen Young (costumes), Christopher Kuhl (lighting), Brandon Wolcott (sound), and Steve Cuiffo (illusions). The piece is by the avant-garde theatre artist Geoff Sobelle.

In the small or fringe theatre category, the citation went to the design team of A Dead Man's Diary: A Theatrical Novel, produced by Arlekin Players Theatre: Nikolay Simonov (scenery), Stephen Petrelli (lighting), Jakov Jakoulov (sound), Svetlana Vakhustinsky and Aleksey Shemyatovsky (video). The piece, directed by Igor Golyak, is taken from a text by Mikhail Bulkagov.
