GDS ArcSystem Added as Emergency Lighting at Wembley Arena

	Wembley Arena now features GDS ArcSystem emergency lighting

Wembley Arena in London is one of the premier entertainment destinations in the UK. It is an iconic concert and events venue. Since opening in 1934 as The Empire Pool, the venue has hosted a plethora of major worldwide artists. From the Beatles to the Stones and Beyonce to Muse, Wembley has seen and heard them all. Bob Dylan has sold 150,000 tickets across 12 appearances but the wide range of entertainment on offer extends way beyond music to comedy, sport and television spectaculars. In short, Wembley Arena remains possibly the most famous venue of its type in the UK.

As part of the current, continuing development of the venue, following a major refurbishment back in 2006, contractors Fagan Electrical Ltd, in a general technical evaluation, identified the need for significant improvements to the levels of emergency lighting. The Wembley Arena management asked Fagan to recommend an efficient and sustainable solution. As respected, highly specialized contractors with over 70 years collective experience in the entertainment industry, Fagan, without hesitation recommended GDS's ArcSystem for the job. Entertainment lighting specialists and UK dealer for GDS, White Light Ltd, was chosen by Fagan Electrical to supply the new system.

GDS supplied 44 Arc 8 cell emergency fittings, two TX 1 transmitters, one button panel, and one commissioning tool. The Arc fittings, with their dual inputs, the company says, were considered the ideal choice for emergency lighting. Add to this the efficiency of ArcSystem's high output to low energy ratio, as well as its low-maintenance qualities and it soon became clear to the company and was selected for this application.

Simon Needle, special projects director of White Light, was happy to report a further endorsement of ArcSystem's qualities: "The Arc fittings brought the safety lighting levels in the arena up to a very impressive level. Testimony to this is that the venue management was actually prompted to employ the system as part of the regular house lights -- further recommendation of the quality on offer."
